Thirty-one days painting in black

curated by Lorenzo Benedetti

Federico Pietrella presents a new work for Assab One, a series of paintings created within a specific time frame. The cycle consists of fifteen canvases of various sizes, made using a process (the application of color followed by its subsequent removal) and materials that require completion in a very short time and leave no room for revisions. Each painting is titled with a date that refers to the day of its execution. The installation does not follow a chronological order, thereby acknowledging the autonomy of each painting within the exhibition.
Once again, Federico Pietrella’s work reveals the artist’s ongoing attention to the processes of creation and continues to explore his unique relationship with time.
