Richard Gorman was born in Dublin in 1946. After studying at Trinity College and Dún Laoghaire School of Art and Design, in the 80′ he moved to Milan.
He is known for abstract arrangements of flat colours and forms, intersecting and geometric elements. Also, his work was strongly influenced by the trips he made to Japan. Richard held exhibitions nationally and internationally: among others, he exhibited at the Kerlin Gallery in Dublin (2007), at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin (2001), at Assab One in Milan (with the exhibition KAN, 2015).
His paintings can be seen in the collections of the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Civic Offices Dublin, Ulster Museum in Belfast, AIB Bank, the Annie and Joseph Albers Foundation. He is a member of Aosdána and was elected RHA of the Royal Hibernian Academy in 2005.

Letizia Cariello 

Born in Copparo in the province of Ferrara, Letizia Cariello lives and works in Milan, where she teaches Artistic Anatomy at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. She graduated in Art History at the University of Milan and after working for cinema in Italy and the United States she obtained a diploma in Painting at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. Her research explores through different media (drawing, installation, photography, sculpture, video…) the relationship between internal and external space. The attempt to capture the material consistency of time is concentrated in the pursuit of its traces, marking it in writing (calendars), objects and matter. Letizia Cariello’s works are in public and private collections in Italy and abroad. The artist held solo exhibitions in institutions such as Palazzo Borromeo, Milan (2018, 2016) and LAC, Lugano (2016). Her two last exhibitions are Seven Gates, held from 27 September to 18 December 2019 at Galleria Fumagalli in Milan and Il Crepaccio Instagram Show curated by Caroline Corbetta on March 23, 2020.

Claire Carpenter

Carpenter studied printmaking at NCAD, Dublin, completing a Masters in Chelsea School of Art, London. Carpenter cites the work of Goya, as well as the emotion in the frescoes by artists such as Giotto, as strong influences in her work, and also the work of various fiction writers. She usually uses tempera on a gesso primer and with passages of loose rhythmical brushwork Carpenter evokes a dream-like atmosphere. Many of the works have minute details which have been painted under a magnifying glass that require the viewer to look closely and carefully at each one. 

Chung Eun Mo 

Born and brought up in South Korea , Chung Eun Mo moved to New York in the mid ‘60s before choosing to live between Ireland and Italy in the ‘80s. Her work is informed by a thorough knowledge of Modernism, especially of the work of the early abstractionists. Like Malevich and Albers, she is fascinated by both mathematical and chromatic harmonies and the changing effects of light on them. Chung Eun Mo exhibits her work regularly and is present in many of the most important private and public collections in New York, Rome, Munich and Seoul. She has participated in the frst edition of 1+1+1 at Assab one in 2017.

Marta Dell’Angelo 

Marta Dell’Angelo was born in Pavia in 1970. Her research, extended to neuroscience and anthropology, is centered on the human body and focused on gesture and posture. Marta expresses herself using a wide variety of languages ranging from painting to video installation, from drawing to performance. She participated in 2017 at the first Triennale dedicated to contemporary art in Armenia. Her work has been presented in various galleries and museums in Italy and abroad: in Milan at the Pac Padiglione di Arte Contemporanea, Palazzo Reale, Palazzo delle Stelline, Museo del Novecento, Mediateca di Santa Teresa, Triennale; in Rome at MACRO, in Bologna at MAMbo and Nosadelladue, in Venice at Palazzo Fortuny; in Madrid at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, in Berlin at the Medizin historisches Museum. He published Manuale della figura umana in 2007 and, on occasion of her solo exhibition in 2019 at Assab One, Afrodite A, a collection of 5 volumes documenting the various aspects of her work.

Nathalie Du Pasquier 

Nathalie Du Pasquier was born in Bordeaux (France) in 1957. She has lived in Milano since 1979. She worked as a designer as part of the iconic postmodern design movement Memphis until 1986 when painting became her main activity. Over the past thirty-five years, Du Pasquier has been intrigued by the relationship between objects and the spaces in which they are installed. This ongoing investigation has manifested in paintings, sculptures, designs, patterns, constructions, carpets, books, and ceramics—constantly acting between the representational and
non-representational, the tangible and intangible, reality and imagination, and two- and three-dimensional forms.

Taffina Flood

Taffina Flood was born in Dublin and educated at The National College of Art and Design of the Irish city, where she currently lectures. The artist received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Fine Art (Painting) and a Master of Arts (MA) in Fine Art (Painting and Printmaking). Specialized in painting, printmaking, photography and textiles, she is also a paper conservator. Taffina exhibited her paintings and prints in Ireland, United Kingdom, France, Sweden and the USA, in venues such as the National Gallery of Ireland and the Portland Art Museum USA. 

Domiziana Giordano

Lives and works in Milan. She studied at Brera Academy of Arts in Milan, at the New York film academy, Stella Adler studio in NYC, at Silvio D’amico’s Accademia di Arte Drammatica and at Alessandro Fersen Dramatic School. She grew up in a family of architects and painters and she’s always been using painting, drawing, videos, photography, performance and acting practice on constant basis as narrative element and tool to achieve acknowledgement and to research the Idea as a social tie.

Aya Ito

Aya Ito was born in Wakayama, Japan, in 1987 and she currently lives and works in Ireland. She received MFA from Kyoto City University of Arts (Department of Painting) and awards like the Shu Uemura Prize and the Judge’s Prize (Yuko Hasegawa) at “Art Award Tokyo Marunouchi 2011”. Populated by uncanny figures similar to ghosts coming from Japanese tradition, her works are inspired by realism more than her imagination. To realize her paintings, Ito uses the “photo-drawing” process: a carefully arranged tableau of maquettes, drawings, ceramics, and collages is photographed by the artist from various angles before settling upon a composition she will paint. After presenting various group exhibitions around Japan, she had “Sleeping Stone” solo exhibition at Tomio Koyama Gallery, Tokyo, in September 2017. 

Eithne Jordan

Irish artist Eithne Jordan (born 1954) studied at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dublin, and she is a member of Aosdána and the RHA. Since her emotionally charged expressionistic paintings of the early ’80s, Jordan’s work has turned towards a formal exploration and depiction of the seen world. She looks at the contemporary urban environment and concentrates on anonymous urban spaces, factory roofs, subway tunnels, underpasses and blank walls – those non-places that are forgotten spaces in cities such as Paris, Rotterdam, New York, Barcelona and most recently Vienna. A general feeling of melancholy permeates her works, where the human presence is rare. Her last solo exhibition was Tableau, Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane.

Wendy Judge

Wendy Judge is an Irish visual artist. She studied at Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design, in Ireland (1986-1989) and received a diploma certificate in Design Communications. Judge’s art practice is committed to armchair travel and the authentic experience, the touristic frontier and the anomalous within the landscape. The journeys she describes are never actually taken or they are based upon hearsay, questioning what is perceived as real. Her last exhibition, entitled The Lost Library, was held at The Lawn Mór Gallery, Dalkey, in 2019. She also obtained several awards: the most recent is the Thomas Dammann Junior Memorial Trust Award in 2019.

Roisin Lewis 

Róisín Lewis graduated from NCAD in fine art and then postgraduated in fine art at the University of Ulster and in multimedia systems in Trinity College Dublin. The general focus of Róisín’s work is the artistic analysis of perception and, in particular, the correlation between spatial and temporal experience and the process of drawing. Working increasingly from memory rather than from observation, past experiences that resurface through the process of drawing in the studio form the starting point for current projects. Her work is not restricted to any medium or material conditions and to date has found form as works on paper, installation, performance and multimedia collaborations. Lewis exhibited in venues such as The Berkeley Art Museum, California; Yanagisawa Gallery, Tokyo; Assab One, Milan (2016). Her last project is Realtime, held at Pallas Projects, Dublin, in 2018.

Alice Maher

Alice Maher was born in 1956 and studied at the University of Limerick and the Crawford College of Art, Cork. Maher is one of Ireland’s leading contemporary artists. She works within the realms of nature and culture, subversion and transformation, mythology and memory involving many different media including painting, drawing, sculpture, print, photography and installation. She has exhibited widely in Ireland, England and the United States, and represented Ireland in the 22nd São Paulo Bienal. A mid-career retrospective of her works was presented at IMMA in 2012. Her last solo exhibition, Vox Materia, was held at The Source Arts Centre in Thurles, Ireland, in 2018.

Camilla Santi 

Born in Milan on 23 January 1955, Camilla Santi is a visual craftswoman who works in Milan, London and Paris. After attending the school of graphics and design in Switzerland, she collaborates with the Condè Nast publishing house for the magazine Lei. In ’75 she opens her studio collaborating with different companies and, as style consultant, with Disegna Demetra and Kamla Denicolai. She designs performances for fashion designers to be proposed to the Italian market and works with Shiseido as artistic consultant. She also deals with architecture, designing public and private spaces. Santi publishes a series dedicated to rural design, a book on her works SCONTRI/NO and ” Scatola per pagine libere con coperchio”, a documentation on Bruno Munari’s works. She began to exhibit in art galleries and to work on various performances. In ’69 she wins the competition of design objects for children Abitare/Bambini which sees in the jury, among others, Abe Stainer and Marco Zanuso.

Amelia Stein

Amelia Stein lives and works in Dublin, Ireland, where she was born in 1958, establishing herself over 30 years as a singularly exacting photographer. Her work is characterized by meticulous attention to detail in tandem with the attributes of fine black and white photography, using absence and the passage of time as a recurring theme. As a performing arts photographer, Stein has worked in Theatre and Opera in Ireland (1979-2000) and her signature black and white photography featured widely in the Music Industry. Stein has been elected a member of the RHA in 2004, Aosdána in 2006. Among her artworks there are Pond Weed (RHA Annual, 2018) and Sheepwire (2015).

Azusa Takahashi

Azusa Takahashi was born in Japan in 1991 and currently lives in Saitama, Japan. She graduated in 2016 in Fine Arts from Tokyo University of the Arts and studied at University of Applied Arts Vienna as an exchange student between 2018 and 2019. During those years she was also an assistant of Richard Gorman in Milan and Dublin. Takahashi then achieved the  Printmaking major from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2019. In her works, Takahashi collects shapes and colours and plays with them to see a landscape or a scenery. Mainly using stencils, the artist cuts shapes out of paper and combines them on another paper with acrylic colours. Among her last exhibitions, the solo show at Art Zone Kaguraoka in Kyoto (2018) and YAN at So Fine Art Editions in Dublin (2019).

Wang Muyi

Wang Muyi was born in Wuxi, China, in 1989 and she moved to Nagoya, Japan, in 1994. After studying fine arts at Tokyo University of the Arts in Japan, Muyi received a master course (2013-2016) and a doctor course (2017). Muyi’s works are often associated with language, used as the theme of her art, because language reflects our perception of communities more than any image. Each character of each language can be considered as just a collection of lines so that communities can be recognized from the slight differences between their lines and sounds. The artist had exhibitions around the world: one of them, The Bond of Art, was held at Ningbo Museum of Art, China, in 2017.

Antonio Catelani

Antonio Catelani was born in Florence in 1962 and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in 1985. In 1995/1996 he moved to Stuttgart where he worked supported by a scholarship granted by the Akademie Schloss Solitude. He lived in Berlin for 10 years and currently lives and works in Milan. Since the mid-1980s, Antonio Catelani has been engaged in a reflection on the regulatory processes in the field of sculpture, with clear references to architecture. Each action is a particular sounding out of the status of the work, where the physical nature of the sculpture is driven to the uncertain borderline between project and object, through a weakening of the boundaries that separate the various disciplines. Formal reduction does not lead to the objectification inherent in Minimalism and indeed differs from it through the discontinuity and provisional nature of its forms, as well as through an excess of meanings and perceptive data. The model becomes a paradigmatic body of this condition and conception of transient reality, which is constantly changing. One of his last solo exhibitions is “doppio soggetto”, held at Rizzuto Gallery, Palermo, in 2019.

Beppe Caturegli

Beppe Caturegli was formed in the cultural climate of Radical Architecture in Florence. After graduating in architecture in 1982, he moved to Milan to begin a long and intense collaboration with Ettore Sottsass, the Memphis group and the Terrazzo magazine. In 1987, along with Formica Giovannella, he decides to open the studio Caturegli Formica Associates Architects: their work goes from residential and commercial architecture to restoration, from interiors to furniture, lamps and flatware, from paintings and ceramics to video. Aiming to enrich the meaning of architecture projects, they use mixed systems such as industrial/crafts, global/local, mass-produced/one-off. One aspect of their research is the structural use of colour and light in architecture. More recently, they have put great commitment and research into an energetic use of light, in the context of bio-architecture projects. Their works have been showed at the Deichtorhallen Hamburg, Centre Pompidou in Paris, Mino Ceramic Art Museum in Japan, Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, Triennale di Milano.

Fabio Mantovan 

After studying medicine and after a couple of years as manager of the photographic studios of an important publishing group, in 1987 Fabio Mantovan decided to follow his passion for photography by starting a successful collaboration with Giuseppe Pino. In 1990 he began his professional career as a portrait, fashion and advertising photographer. Fabio Paleari

Fabio Paleari was born in Milan in 1963. After finishing his studies in photography at UCLA, Paleari divided his time between advertising photography – working with Vogue and Saatchi & Saatchi, among others – and photographing his extensive travels in Latin America, Australia and Morocco. Paleari is considered as one of the most radical photographers at a national level. His photographs represent a sort of intimate diary of intense experiences and highly charged emotions. He is able to draw on his wild past, at times taming it and filtering it with a more mature and meditative eye; at others he is also cynical and revelatory. He also published many books like The Leu Family’s Family Iron (Trolley Publishing, London, 2003) and produced documentaries and experimental films. His last solo exhibition was a film documentary, The last beat of Allen Ginsberg, held at Gnam, Rome, in 2018. He presented Lo Que Dura un Sueno at ASSAB ONE, Milan, in 2009.
